Standard working hours

  • Fulltime employment is 37.5 hours per week for PSM Act employees.

  • Part-time employment is more than 15 hours but less than 37.5 hours per week. Part-time employees have the same conditions that apply to full-time employee, but on a pro-rata basis, and in proportion to hours normally worked. The hours are generally fixed and constant.

Annual (Recreation) Leave


  • 12.5 hours (one and two thirds [1 2/3] days), paid recreation leave for each completed month of service, equivalent to 150 hours for a completed service year.
  • A service year commences on the date of employment as a PSM Act employee.
  • Part-time employees will receive a pro-rate amount in accordance with hours worked.

Sick Leave

  • Full-time employees are entitled to 90 hours sick leave per financial year. Part-time employees’ entitlements are adjusted in accordance with the number of hours worked.

Parental Leave


  • Paid maternity leave – 14 weeks per child
  • Unpaid parental leave – maternity leave may be granted for up to 104 weeks in total, including paid and unpaid leave for the care of a child not of school age.

Salary Packaging


  • A maximum of 50% of the employee’s total annual earnings can be used for salary sacrifice purposes.

Superannuation

  • 9% Employer Benefit paid to Triple S Super Scheme.
  • Employees have the opportunity to make their own contributions to the scheme, including making salary sacrifice (pre-tax) superannuation contributions.
