Seed Services Australia offers a range of training courses, including:


Training for seed lot sampling

A course for people who need to sample seed as part of their business. Ideal for employees of seed processors who need to sample and divide seed, and compulsory for anyone seeking to become accredited to sample seed for International Seed Lot Certificate.

The course is based on modules that combine theory and practical exercises to cover:

  • accurate sampling
  • characteristics of a seed lot
  • sample variation and tolerances
  • preparing a submitted sample
  • sampling equipment and techniques
  • sampling a seed lot
  • official samples and documentation

Seed identification training

This course can be tailored to suit your business requirements. For example, a course could focus on identification of declared and prohibited weed species, or perhaps weed species from a particular geographic area.

Training is usually conducted over a day using our world class seed testing facilities at Urrbrae, South Australia.

Training for seed crop inspection

This course teaches participants the knowledge and practical skills needed to inspect seedcrops according to OECD seed certification field inspection requirements. The training is customised according to the species and type of inspection to be performed, and is compulsory for people seeking accreditation to inspect crops within seed certification schemes conducted by Seed Services Australia.
