Export Certification Services

Seed Services Australia can provide documentation for a range of trade and market access purposes, including:

International certificates

Seed Services Australia is accredited by ISTA to issue:

Seed lot certificate (Orange International Certificate)
This certificate is issued when a seed sample is officially drawn from the seed lot under the authority of an ISTA member station and then tested by the member station according to the ISTA rules for seed testing. The certificate used is coloured orange. The most common form of the certificate is orange (OIC), however a green certificate is issued if seed is sampled under the authority of one member station and tested under the authority of another.

Sampling and submitting seed for the issue of an OIC.

Seed sample certificate (Blue International Certificate)
This type of certificate is issued when sampling of the lot is not under the responsibility of a member station. In this case, the laboratory is responsible only for testing the seed sample as submitted. It is not responsible for the relationship between the sample and any seed lot from which it may have been derived. This certificate used in this case is coloured blue.

Phytosanitary certificates

Seed can be examined for compliance with the current phytosanitary requirements of the importing country. Phytosanitary certificates can be issued for small seed lots and samples only. Contact the Manager, Seed Testing for further details. For information about commercial consignments of seed contact the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service at  www.aqis.gov.au .

Quality assurance certificates

These certificates can be issued where the quality requirements for sowing seed are not relevant, for example, bird seed and other commodities. Many aspects of commodity quality can be determined on request and customised to individual client needs..
