Rural Solutions SA praised in top architecture award

Rural Solutions SA continues to win plaudits for its work – a second major award has been made to the Sturt River Linear Park Master Plan.

The Royal Australian Institute of Architects (SA) Awards, presented at a ceremony in Adelaide with guest speaker Professor Tim Flannery on 29 June, gave a commendation for the linear park concept by Swanbury Penglase Architects in the Urban Design category.

Swanbury Penglase worked with a Rural Solutions SA team of consultants that comprised Wayne Brown, Geoffrey Bishop and Catherine Miles.  Swanbury Penglase Senior Landscape Architect Tim Conybeare praised Rural Solutions SA for its efforts.

“The award is a testament to a sound collaborative project. Well done all and thanks again for all of your efforts with the project,” he said.

The citation said the jury recognised sound research and clearly prioritised objectives.  “The comprehensive report explored biodiversity, water management and recreational needs to produce a landscape and urban design vision for the Sturt River corridor. Complex issues were deciphered and communicated succinctly,” it said.

“The extensive user consultation was clearly evident. Within a short time frame the consultants embraced the diverse range of user and landowner needs to deliver a functional and practical policy document.

The consultants are applauded for their sensitivity in addressing and guiding future development along the Sturt River corridor,” the jury said.

Rural Solutions SA Executive Director Mr Locky McLaren said the award demonstrated the ability of the business to provide top-quality services, especially in the environmental area.

“Rural Solutions SA puts emphasis on selecting the right team of consultants for every project. This ensures that we combine the relevant expertise with our knowledge of local issues to achieve great results for ourcustomers,” Mr McLaren said.
