Rural Solutions SA’s new Food Chain Innovations Team hits the mark

A new Food Chain Innovations team has been created by Rural Solutions SA to enhance primary industries’ value chains.Food Chain Innovations Group

It will focus on delivering sustainable business solutions for companies and their value chain partners and allies, industry associations and their networks, and State and Federal Government agencies.

The team consists of Principal Consultant Theo Simos and Senior Consultants Craig Johns, Ian Lewis, Karen Shepherd, Elizabeth Gunner and Mark Drew.

Theo Simos said the team offers a wealth of knowledge and experience to meet the food industry’s current and emerging needs in domestic and export markets.

More effective and efficient food value chains were a key driver to improved competitiveness and to successfully take advantage of expanded business opportunities.

“Chains thinking goes beyond reducing costs and improved logistics,” said Theo.

“Relationships between other partners in the chain, shared business information between partners and a strong, customer focussed approach are also important.

“Further, there are emerging issues like improved energy efficiency and a reduction in the carbon footprint along the chain that will be increasingly important.”
