Kate Van Staveren has recently joined the Animal Health team of PIRSA based at Clare and will continue their valuable work directed towards a healthy and prosperous livestock industry in South Australia.

Kate studied Veterinary Science at The University of Sydney and since then has worked in a number of mixed animal practices in Victoria and New South Wales before settling a few years ago at Gawler

Her work in private practice has been diverse and has included involvement in the Ovine Brucellosis Free Accreditation Scheme and Johne’s disease testing for the Market Assurance Program (MAP). More recently the majority of her work has been in equine medicine.

Kate will be involved in animal disease surveillance in the mid north, far north and Eyre Peninsula.
