As highlighted at the recent Local Government Showcase Rural Solutions SA can provide a wide range of innovative environmental projects to suit the specific needs of councils.

The Showcase enabled the Environmental Solutions team to enlighten local councils about it's services and current Local Government activities.

Principal Consultant Wayne Brown said these Local Government projects can extend out to other councils.

“These examples include the contoured or sculptured mowing of native grasses which was displayed by video at the Showcase for the first time,” said Wayne.

“The video looks at how we actually maintain native grass swords, how they can grow and provide landscape requiring less maintenance, less water and reduces weeds.

“We displayed our roadside management plan programs which we are working on - especially with rural councils – and how to capture that information, adding to councils’ asset management plans.”

Mr Brown believes there is a great deal to offer local councils from Rural Solutions SA’s past environmental experiences.

Executive Director Locky McLaren addressed delegates during the lunch interval regarding the whole of business services provided by Rural Solutions SA and it's environmental consultants.

Numerous chief executives took the opportunity of further questioning Mr McLaren about the complete environmental package.

The LGA Showcase event was an opportunity for local councils to present an insight into activities within their particular council’s region.

As a Platinum Sponsor of the event held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on May 1 and 2 Rural Solutions SA’s attendance was part of it's strategic initiative towards Local Government.

Representing Rural Solutions SA were environmental consultants Tegan Laslett, Olivia Tell and Ben Baghurst, Principal Consultant Wayne Brown and marketing team member Terry Price.
