Grasshoppers controlled in Mid North
Grasshoppers controlled in Mid North
PIRSA’s grasshopper control program in the State’s Mid North has been completed. The aerial spraying program operated in the Orroroo-Hawker-Peterborough-Carrieton areas over the past six weeks and was managed by Hugh Longbottom from Rural Solutions SA, with support from Plant Health’s David Heaven, SARDI’s Ken Henry, Rural Solutions SA’s Albert Singh and Dee Joss and others. Hugh attributed the success of the operation to work by the Department in previous programs and in emergency management training, and the mapping work of Spatial Information Services was pivotal to the effectiveness of the operation.
