Terry Evans has joined the Rural Soltuions SA Soil and Land Management Team based at the PIRSA office in Keith. He will be working on the Healthy Soils for Sustainable Farms and Sandy Soils projects as well as continuing to do the Electro Magnetic surveys he was doing while a member of the Salinity Team at Nuriootpa.
Terry has a Natural Resource Management degree and has worked for PIRSA for a total of 10 years, mostly in salinity and groundwater management. He has also had stints with CSIRO in Griffith and Southcorp Wines where he introduced Electro Magnetic surveying in vineyards and developed a taste for good red wine.
Terry will be involved in monitoring existing demonstration sites and supplying information to the farming community on farming systems relating to soils. These will include dryland and irrigated sites in the Keith & Bordertown areas.
Terry is keen to get out and meet the members of the farming community in the Limestone Coast area and will be working closely with existing farming groups.
