We thought that it might be interesting to our readers, to let you know what services are currently available from the Mt Gambier Rural Solutions SA/ PIRSA office.  Feel free to give the office a call if you have an queries, 8735 1300.

We can offer you authorisations for NLIS Cattle Tags, OJD vaccine, Recreational Rock Lobster fishing licences, tags and quota transfers.  Master additions, boat registrations and de-registrations as well as commercial fisherman,  we will also help with any other enquiries you may have.  We also have access to free information and publications for sale on a variety of topics, including care of livestock, horticulture, your soil health, and climate change.  .
PIRSA Forestry is now also based in the Mt Gambier office, and can provide advice to land owners on establishing, managing and harvesting trees. As well as providing help to improve  the biodiversity values associated with plantation forests , and where possible expand areas of native forest on their properties.  Or provide advice and assistance on issues related to forest Health 
The Forest Education and Workforce Development team work with schools and other training organisations to increase the profile of forestry, to include forestry as part of their curriculum, and ultimately to get more locals working in the variety of occupations available in the forest industry.

It might also be of interest to you that there are PIRSA Fisheries officers based at the Mt Gambier office, as well as staff involved in SARDI  Abalone and Rock Lobster Research.  Our three Animal Health Officers are involved in a variety of animal health programs and are able to provide advice in many areas relating to livestock.
