Rural Solutions SA has developed an online Aboriginal employment register enabling individuals to build their own resume based on skills, qualifications and experience.
The purpose is to enable NRM Boards to contact and contract Aboriginal people in their region to deliver on ground works within their skill range.
The contacts register is a Statewide contact list for identifying communities, businesses and agencies across the State, and was developed for the Alinytjara Wilurara NRM Board to assist with the integration of Aboriginal information and issues into the eight NRM Boards.
Team leader Community and Indigenous Services with Rural Solutions SA Jason Downs said the site provides an interactive and live mechanism for NRM personnel to find relevant information for their region.
“It enables a portal for sharing and identifying relevant information for NRM practitioners and Aboriginal people in a useable format, providing opportunities to link NRM to employment across South Australia,” he said.
