A survey was sent to all SANTFA members with the membership renewals for the 2007-2008 season.  The survey was designed to capture information from growers of their seeding equipment and a brief summary of modifications.  This allowed a wide variety of machinery which has been designed or adapted for no-till seeding. 

Growers will be able to make SANTFA the point of contact to speak to another grower with similar machinery.  The growers will be able to share information and hopefully make better use of their investment of time and money in future machinery modifications. 

At the time of printing, over 260 survey forms were sent to SANTFA from South Australia and other states also, which was an excellent response. 

The following brands of seeders were added to the database; Alfarm, Austil, Bioblade, Bourgault, Case, Chamberlain, Concord, Conserva Pak Connor Shea, DBS, Excel, Ezee-On, Flexi-Coil, Forward, Gason, Horwood Bagshaw, International, Janke, John Deere, John Shearer, K-Hart, Leon, Morris, Napier, NDF, New Holland, Ryan, Simplicity and Seed Hawk.  Many different models of the various brands were identified through the survey. 

Many thanks to the growers who took the time to fill out their seeder database forms, it will make for a good future reference list and point of contact for growers seeking to modify their machinery.
