A big opportunity for small landholdings

A BIG OPPORTUNITY FOR SMALL LANDHOLDINGS
Linking Sustainable Land use and Lifestyle Properties

Do you own a property between about 3 and 20 ha in size? Is the majority of your income from a non-farm source? Would you like access to more practical information on managing your property? If you do read on!

A new project has been funded through the Eyre Peninsula Natural Resources Management Board in conjunction with the Northern and Yorke NRM Board. The project aims to assist owners of small rural landholdings to make confident and knowledgeable decisions regarding natural resources and land management on their properties.

Rural Solutions SA with support from the EP NRM Board and government agencies will be delivering a professional and informative program of workshops and information sessions on local issues such as:

* Property planning
* Land and water management principles
* Weed identification and control
* Livestock management
* Pest animal control
* Biodiversity
* Fire prevention and preparedness

For those interested in attending the workshops, grants of $1000 per property are also accessible to implement on-ground actions specific to the issues on your property. Further information on the project will be available in February and workshops will commence in March onwards.

If you would like to be involved please contact Rosie Zollo at the Rural Solution SA on 8688 3400 to register an interest in the project.
