Profitable Perennials

A forum ‘Profitable perennials in the landscape’ will be held at the ‘Rambler’ Football Club (showgrounds) at Cummins on Tuesday 12th February 2008 commencing at 9.00am and finishing about 5.30pm.

The forum is presented by the Future Farm Industries CRC (formerly CRC for plant-based management of dryland salinity) and supported by Landmark and DWLBC.

The forum will focus on lucerne, saltbush and other perennial plants and their role in increased production, livestock gains and the management of dryland salinity. 
 
Topics covered include:

* Matching lucerne and other perennials to soil and the landscape
* Lucerne’s role in cropping and lessons for the region
* Lucerne for low-medium rainfall areas
* Saltland pastures and their use
* Turning saltland into productive land
* Grazing saltland pastures
* Saltbush and grazing potential

Speakers include researchers, consultants, agribusiness advisers and farmers. The forum will include a panel discussion with Landmark agronomists, agribusiness advisers, researchers and leading farmers.

The forum is free of charge and morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and refreshments will be provided
