Terry
Brenton and Alan what did you think of today’s forum, what did you get out of it?

Brenton
Quite informative we have know for some time that Rural Solutions are moving in to new directions obviously fee for service is part of the platform. To hear today the expertise, the level of expertise and the vast range of projects that they’re covering is quite exciting.

Terry
And Alan?

Alan
In this day and age I guess we all need some support or help in what we would normally have done previously on our own. There’s so many new rules and regulations that are around the place these days, we need some expertise and it’s great that someone like Rural Solutions are able to provide those and help us through what is a complex program.

Terry
And Alan, as a Mayor of a local government body where would you normally go, where have you gone in the past to actually deal with some of these issues or are they going to be new issues for the future?

Alan
Well I guess we have had some expertise in our council area in our council staff previously and however some of these new projects are getting beyond that expertise and we need to bring in new expertise for doing that, but I guess the new legislation has made it such that you’ve got to keep up to the latest, what’s happening and we are just going through a new process now of a new road and I was interested in the native vegetation side of things because we have to get permission to take a certain amount of native vegetation out and the reason for doing that .

Terry
And what about your role Brenton, how would you specifically see today’s presentation impacting on yourself in the future?

Brenton
Well with regional development of course its all about investment, and jobs growth investment, their the main cries of regional development and so constantly developers are needing direction, advice, impartial that will help them form the correct contracts, correct applications so that when they lodge with council, local government and state government in some cases, they’re going to hit the target, because time is money.
