Edition 7, September 2008

e-newsletter edition 7, September 2008

Welcome

It is the beginning of Spring and with much of the country experiencing a cold Winter we’re sure you’ll welcome the new season growth and brightness that comes with it.

It was terrific to see many familiar, smiling faces at the Eyre Peninsula Field Days at Cleve mid-August, due to the recent consistent rains in South Australia.

Lots of new titles are arriving daily as we prepare for the Adelaide Show 5-13 September. You can catch us in the Farm Expo pavilion, open between 9am & 7pm daily. Then it’s off to the Riverland Field Days 17-18 September.

We recently hosted an eight-day workshop/seminar for Agco Australia at which its sales reps Australia wide received training, before the national launch of the new Challenger tractor on the final day drew considerable media attention.

Don’t forget the Roseworthy Campus 125th Open Day entitled 'The Science behind the Product' on Sunday, 2 November 2008. Everything is pointing to a very successful event.

Enjoy the new season and let us know your news, upcoming events or book orders.

Regards,

Lisa and Nicky

Culpeppers Colour Herbal

Edited by David Potterton

Our Price: $39.95

This is the essence of Nicholas Culpeppers' work on herbal medicine. The editor, David Potterton has retained the famous herbalist's caustic comments about the ignorance and deceits of the physicians of his day. The editor has also retained many of Culpepper's colourful description of herbs, and in each case, his understanding of their medicinal virtues, but has also included the present-day uses of herbs in the light of modern herbal practice and research. It is interesting to note how many herbs used in Culpepper's time still occupy a prominent position in herbal dispensaries today.
