Budget Solutions is a calculator for preparing gross margins budgets in dryland farming operations. The program consists of two modules, Cropping for the usual range of cereal, pulse and oilseed crops and Livestock for sheep and beef enterprises.

In the cropping module a database hold information about your paddocks, plant and equipment, fertilisers, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and other crop inputs.

This data is then used to prepare annual paddock plans from which a gross margin budget is generated. Budgets can be updated at any point in the growing season. The sensitivity of price and yield changes can also be assessed.

In the livestock module the database holds information about your ewe, wether, prime lamb or beef enterprise.

Flock and herd plans can be established and gross margins per dry sheep equivalent or hectare compared.

Budget Solutions provides a dynamic view of enterprise gross margins throughout the production cycle and the opportunity to examine multiple 'what-if' scenarios as prices or input costs change.
