The SMARTtrain Chemical Accreditation Program is a comprehensive approach to chemical training for the safe and effective use of agricultural chemicals.
With SMARTtrain Chemical Application accreditation you can legally purchase Schedule 7 pesticides as prescribed by the Controlled Substances (Poisons) Regulations 1996.
SMARTtrain chemical Application accreditation is recognised by The Agricultural and Veterinary Products (Control of Use) Regulations 2004, which is administered by Primary Industries and Resources South Australia (PIRSA)
Training is provided at supervisor and management level in risk management skills of agricultural chemicals. The course is at AQF Level 4. Usually a 1.5-day course (flexibility can be provided upon RTO approval)
Who should do this course? This course is suitable for training supervisors and managers with risk management skills to manage the transportation, storage, application and record keeping of agricultural chemicals (including biological pesticides). Participants must be accredited at Level 3 to achieve competence at Level 4.
