BSB50201 Diploma of Business Administration

The Diploma of Business Administration is for people seeking to update their business administration skills and work at a higher level in the business administration industry.

Specialist Administration units reflect the diversity of administrative work and variety of skills and knowledge required by administrative workers.

Workers with qualifications in this area could include administrative officers, general office managers, executive personal assistants and business managers.

To achieve a Diploma of Business Administration you will need to complete 5 core competency units and 3 elective competency units.

BSBADM501A Manage the establishment and maintenance of a workgroup network
This unit covers establishing a computer network with an information technology consultant, using the appropriate software, managing the network, responding to problems, assisting network users and providing training.
BSBADM502A Manage meetings
This unit covers managing the preparation of meetings, chairing the meetings, organising the minutes and reporting outcomes. 
BSBADM503A Plan and manage conferences
The unit covers planning, promoting and coordination conferences, ensuring follow up procedures are incorporated.
BSBADM504A Plan or review administration systems
This unit covers planning and/or reviewing the requirements of effective administration systems and procedures for implementing, monitoring and reviewing the system.
BSBADM505A Manage payroll

The unit covers establishment and monitoring of security procedures related to managing payroll services, and the calculation and processing of salary payments, group taxation and related payments.

BSBADM506A Manage business document design and development
This unit covers setting standards for organisational documents and managing document design and production to meet the standards
Elective Units
BSBFLM501B Manage personal work priorities and professional development
This unit specifies the outcomes required to manage own performance and professional development. Particular emphasis is on setting and meeting priorities, analysing information and using strategies to develop further competence.
BSBFLM505B Manage operational plan
This unit specifies the outcomes required to develop and monitor the implementation of the operational plan to provide efficient and effective workplace practices within the organisation's productivity and profitability plans. Management at a strategic level requires systems and procedures to be developed and implemented to facilitate the organisation's operational plan.
BSBMGT502A Manage people performance
This unit covers the ability of managers to manage the performance of the staff who report to them directly. Development of key result areas and key performance indicators and standards, coupled with regular and timely coaching and feedback, provide the basis for performance management. It is a unit that all managers/prospective managers who have responsibility for other employees should strongly consider undertaking.
